Want to know the truth about whether or not The Flex Belt is a scam? My pictures tell the story, but read on for more details:
I, personally, thought that The Flex Belt was a scam when I first heard about it. To be perfectly honest with you, I still thought it seemed fishy after watching a video of how it works on You Tube. I have a love/hate relationship with exercise and am always curious to learn about new products. And especially since I started a new job last year that had me sitting at a desk almost all day long, I realized something: I would have less time to exercise but suddenly needed it way more. I think I finally understood why my mom was always watching the Home Shopping Network and getting products she would use once and then store in our basement and sell at our annual garage sale. I had the best of intentions – not to get fat, to stay in good shape and maintain my love of working out – but didn’t always have a way to achieve my goals.
I should mention that even at my heaviest, I was never enormous or anything. But I was overweight, according to one certain video game machine program I used. That made me crazy. Because during my early adulthood I had worked hard to get into better physical condition and finally liked how I looked in clothes and swim suits. It happened pretty soon after I started a job that required me to be on the computer and sedentary for hours every week. I developed some tummy flab and jiggle on my bum and thighs. It’s typical, I guess. But I didn’t want to settle into that, you know? One size larger and feeling uncomfortable in my body was the worst. I was determined to find a product or machine that could give me a really decent workout in the shortest amount of time, since I could not make it to the gym as often as I had in the past.
Like most of my friends with a similar situation in an office job, I had more than ample free time to goof off on the internet. I tried getting out the office and walking during breaks, but I could tell that made me seem less committed to my company and work, which I didn’t want. Instead, I could research. And there was a lot of information to uncover about burning calories and fat, toning, all kinds of diets, some of which looked interesting and others I immediately dismissed, and products that I initially chalked up to be junk, either for lazy people or people too dumb to see through the scam and advertising. I was not one to jump on the bandwagon for The Flex Belt, or any product like it, but I have to admit, I kept going back to look again at the process of using it and the results that others were getting.
So, for those of you who haven’t seen the very loud, kind of annoying promotional videos – TONE IT! TIGHTEN IT! FIRM IT! – The Flex Belt is a device, I guess, that you wear around your waist and it uses electric pulses to move the muscles in your abdomen, the same thing that happens, apparently, when you do a proper crunch or sit-up. Seems too good to be true, right? Like the “eat all the cookies you want diet” or the pill that promises you won’t have to change a thing about your diet or do any sort of exercise and magically, you will get skinny. The thing about The Flex Belt, is that when you read more deeply into it, they do talk about fitness and healthy eating, and all that stuff we all know is important but sometimes wish we could ignore. I personally, love the cheesy bread from a certain pizza chain we all know and could eat it every night if I could not get majorly chubby doing so. Anyway, this was enough of a positive sign for me to want to learn more.

Turns out, The Flex Belt is most recommended for those of us who are already doing something to get into shape or to stay fit and active. At my busiest at work, I still have time to walk for thirty minutes a few times a week, usually in the morning, and to hit the gym occasionally, where I know I burn a lot of calories. My diet had deteriorated, though. For a while I was eating mostly vegetarian – though I love a good burger once in a while – and getting lots of whole grains and doing salads for dinner most nights. I realized my “work eating habits” had gotten unhealthy and gross. It was so easy to say yes when everyone else was getting bagels or muffins or donuts, and ordering chips to go along with my turkey sandwich at lunch. I knew I wanted to make some changes, so I began tweaking my caloric intake, just a little at first. Nothing drastic, but choosing to drink water instead of juice or soda, these are the small choices I am talking about that made a big difference, at least for me.
I can say I saw some improvement in how I looked in my clothes by eating better, but I was definitely flabbier than I used to be and I continued to find that depressing. I was bummed out I could not affect the change I wanted to see, even though I was busy all the time at work and not like I was just watching TV at home all day or anything. I think this was when I decided I would give The Flex Belt a try for myself. I didn’t tell anyone about it. I thought my friends would make fun of me, especially because I was always calling them out on going in for fads and scams they found on the web. I am definitely “the practical one” and didn’t want to ruin my reputation and my ability to tease them about the junk they bought and believed in for the sake of a quick fix.
What totally surprised me – in a good way – about the first time I used The Flex Belt, was that when I was done my stomach muscles felt like they had been worked, like I had done Pilates or a serious crunch routine. The sensation while you are wearing it is not unpleasant. It doesn’t hurt at all, I guess it felt funny at first but I very quickly realized I could get other things accomplished. I could talk on the phone to my mom or sister, read a magazine, clean the garage, or even walk around the house, in the hopes of burning even more calories while I was toning. And I did feel like I was toning. It’s not like you’re going to lose your Buddha belly in one day or anything, but you feel the belt kind of vibrating and afterward you know you’ve had an ab workout. It took a couple of weeks of using The Flex Belt every evening after work, but I soon began to see the results I had not been seeing just from occasional exercise and consuming less junk food.

It was time to come out of the closet, LOL. I told my mom and my best friend about what I was seeing and feeling. They knew I was not one to take weight loss lightly. Being thin was never easy for me, always work. And once I was resigned to being healthier, I always stayed focused on my daily practice and long-term goals. They were pleasantly surprised, I think, to hear me admit that The Flex Belt was a product worth using. That it could not be lumped in with those sites and salespeople that make big promises assuring the consumer we don’t have to do anything. You have to be a little proactive. You have to have a healthy diet, you have to get some cardiovascular exercise, and you have to use The Flex Belt consistently and correctly.
I don’t know. I mean, I can see why it wouldn’t be right for everyone. But most of my friends and family have been excited to try it and liked the results, both immediate and over time. And I know I am definitely looking slim and trim again, instead of roly-poly. I love the confidence I have back. And for the first time in a very long time, I love my abs. My ab muscles are seriously tight, and I think I am beginning to get a six pack, which is a goal I never even thought I could get for myself. Even at my most fit I always had a little belly pudge. Not anymore. I have flat abs and I feel so fantastic. Now I am happy to admit it. I was skeptical and now I am a believer. The Flex Belt is not a scam, ‘cause it really worked for me.
